Last January 5, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong, hosted the 2nd LEOrdes Special Olympics at the \Pax et Bonum gym together with LEO Foundation represented by our very own alumnus, Joshua Manuel P. De Lara, SOL batch 2017 and Special Olympics Philippines represented by Ms. Kaye Chastine B. Samson. The LSM community welcomed the teachers and special athletes from La Sagesse Rehabilitation and Development Center and through fun culminating sport activities, established a new profound relationship with them which will surely not be forgotten. The members of the Basketball club headed by Mr. Gabriel Aganon, SOL batch 2009 and Volleyball club by Mr. Emmanuel Santos SOL batch 2003 joined the special athletes in fun activities such as zumba, running games, basketball and volleyball. As a token of appreciation, the special athletes together with their teachers and chaperones received LSM sling bags and foldable fans and were treated to a hearty meal prepared by the members of the Chefs’ club headed by Mr.Jerry Sabado. This event, which was sponsored by the High School Student Government through the leadership of Mr. Miguelito Yamamoto, the SHS president and Mr. Martin Els Candelaria, JHS president, with their advisers, Mr. Jeffrey M. Ordinal and Mrs. Barbara C. Lumanog, sowed realizations to Lourdesians that no matter what differences people may have with each other, we are still united as brothers under God. This reflects what the school envisions and promotes – gospel brotherhood and minority.
