Lourdesians partake in evangelization confab

To further strengthen the role as proclaimers of the Gospel, Lourdesians attended the Philippine Conference on New Evangelization 4 (PCNE 4) with the theme “Of One Heart and Soul” in the University of Santo Tomas (UST) last
July 28 to 30..
PCNE, spearheaded by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, gathers Christian believers from the Philippines and other countries to enrich their faith through dialogues and sessions.
In line with the celebration of the Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities, PCNE 4 stressed on the unity in the society and highlighted relevant issues concerning the nation.
To begin the conference, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila, presided over the Misa ng Bayang Pilipino which featured traditional Filipino practices and elements in the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
He also facilitated a panel discussion with celebrity guests such as Mr. Dingdong Dantes, Mr. Alden Richards and Rep. Vilma Santos who shared stories of conversion and healing.
In another plenary session, Ms. Delia Dalisay, Co-director of the Focolare Movement in the country, talked about the significance of the communion with Christ.
During the second day, Archbishop Salvatore Rino Fisichella, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, shared ways on being active in spreading the love of God in the parishes and communities.
Meanwhile, Richarson da Silva, Dr. Carmi Ngan-Oy and Ms. Marissa Amor Liquigan together with the Sisters of Mary Girlstown witnessed to how Christ entered their lives in the midst of their troubles.
Da Silva graduated from Facenda de Esperanca, a rehabilitation program in Masbate. He told his experience in overcoming the use of illegal drugs and helping others to do so through prayers.
For the attendees to understand how they may apply these in their respective fields and communities, concurrent sessions were conducted focusing on ecology, family, parish, school and youth among others.
“PCNE helped me a lot especially the talks about evangelizing the new generation and as a teacher and catechist, PCNE gave me different ways on how to teach CLED,” told Mr. Bon-Jovy Patac, a CLEd teacher..
