Owing to our Foundation Anniversary celebration activities, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong‘s academic year stretches further into the calendar as compared to other schools. This has fortunately allowed us more leeway to wait and see the general directions government and health authorities are taking in order to contain CoVID19; meanwhile, we continued to strictly implement practices and precautions recommended by medical experts to avoid contamination and infection.
It seems that this stance has caused impatience with some of our parent-partners; however, we assure everyone that the School remains vigilant to developments in the fight against this public health threat and always places the holistic well-being of the Masters in all its deliberations. We continue to urge calm and prudence among all our stakeholders–parents, guardians, employees, students, alumni, and benefactors. Frenzy and worry can be as much a bane to our community as the virus itself. We must preserve the spirit of cooperation, mutual trust, and personal responsibility in order to face this trial as good and loving Christians.
It is timely to make these announcements below. Others are forthcoming, pending consultations with other stakeholders like the PTA and the formation community. Pax et bonum!
- Online tasks continue. Home-based learning activities will continue until March 25 for Grade School and until March 20 for High School. These are crucial because they will be part of the limited sources for 4th Quarter grades.
- Fourth Quarter Exams are cancelled. 4th Quarter grades will be based on class standing and would not include Fourth Quarter exams. The Masters must consult their instructors regarding any concerns.
- School Upkeep until March 17. Excepting school employees, the campus will momentarily be off-limits to parents and visitors; offices and non-education services will resume on March 18. To retrieve the Masters’ properties, please follow the schedule:
March 18, Wednesday: Kindergarten – Gr2; Gr7 & Gr8
March 19, Thursday: Gr3 & Gr 4; Gr9 & Gr10
March 20, Friday: Gr5 & Gr6; Gr11 & Gr12.
- Stay calm. Be safe. Reflect & Pray.
Be careful of fake news. Avoid sharing sensationalized, unconfirmed information. Do not encourage irresponsible chatter. Train to be consistently mindful of hand hygiene. Most of all, continue a life of prayer and sacramental faith. Be not afraid, the Lord says; let us trust in Him.
