“I have done what was mine to do. May Christ teach you what is yours.”

So did Saint Francis say to his brothers 799 years past, and also to us 799 years later. From this afternoon began our year-long preparation for the eighth centenary of his Transitus since 1226. This year, we have been blessed to commemorate our holy Father Francis with students and formators from Lourdes School Quezon City, the consecrated persons of the Franciscan Family, and Bishop Emeritus Honesto Ongtioco who presided the Pontifical High Mass.

True to its timeless spirit, this year’s Transitus was as moving and meaningful as ever thanks to the Lourdesian students and formators who poured their hearts into making this commemoration grace-filled, also to all who joined us in celebrating the eternal life enjoyed by the Poverello of Assisi. Indeed, Francis is alive.

Happy Fiesta! Pax et bonum!
