The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed
On this All Souls’ Day, we gather as Catholic faithful to remember and pray for the souls of our departed loved ones, as well as all baptized Christians believed to be in purgatory who have died with “lesser sins.” This day highlights the importance of mercy, love, and community as we support one another on our journey toward eternal life.
As we honor their memories and strive to live our faith fully, let us gather the courage to continue fighting our battles on their behalf. Together, we offer a prayer for the intercession of our loved ones:
Dear God, may You grant eternal rest to the souls of those who have passed away, and let perpetual light shine upon them. We trust that they will be cared for under Your righteous hands, free from torment. May You give us new sources of hope and strength to overcome the obstacles in our way. Through Your mercy, let their souls, along with all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
