“Awaken! Remember that God comes! Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but today, now! ”
Pax et bonum!
Today, we joyfully welcome the First Sunday of Advent, marking the beginning of a new Liturgical Year. This sacred season calls us, as a Lourdesian community, to prepare our hearts with hope and anticipation for the coming of Christ.
In the spirit of our Lourdesian identity, let us embrace this time as an opportunity for healing, renewal, and peace—not just within ourselves, but in our community and the world. As we face challenges marked by discord and suffering, may we become instruments of Christ’s love and light, sharing His peace with those who need it most.
Most importantly, let us prepare room in our hearts for Jesus, offering Him a humble manger filled with love and service. Together, may we live out the Gospel by being His light in the world, spreading joy and hope as we journey toward Christmas.
COLLECT PRAYER for the First Sunday of Advent
Grant your faithful, we pray, Almighty God,
the resolve to run forth to meet your Christ with righteous deeds
at his coming, so that, gathered at his right hand, they may be worthy
to possess the heavenly Kingdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
