Lourdes School of Mandaluyong has officially launched the #SeasonofCreation2024 embracing the global theme “To Hope and Act With Creation,” inspired by St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans (Chapter 8:19-25). Held on September 9 and 10, the launch brought together both Grade School and High School students to reflect on our shared mission of caring for God’s creation and actively engage with the Laudato Si’ Goals.
The event, organized by the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong Campus Ministry, began with an insightful explanation of the celebration’s theme and symbols. A highlight was the heartfelt commitment from students, each pledging to take meaningful steps to care for our COMMON HOME. The launch concluded with a solemn Season of Creation Prayer, led by Rev. Jusfer John Albert, OFMCap., the school’s Campus Minister, fostering our sense of purpose, unity, and solidarity.
As the #SeasonOfCreation unfolds, several activities in school will further highlight its significance. These include the Blessing of Pets and Plants, Laudato Si’ Conference, Classroom-Based Art Activities and Lesson Integration, Grades 6 and 7 Clean-Up Drive integrated with the Solidarity activity and Retreat, Grade 8 Prayer and Communing with Nature. Additionally, the Furry Fun Run (Paws and Pals Parade) for a Cause, organized by the Sons of Lourdes Alumni Association-Batch 2000 and supported by the LSM Parents Teachers Association, promises to be a fun and meaningful event!
As proactive Lourdesians, we are called to follow St. Francis of Assisi’s example by being faithful stewards of the earth. Together, we reaffirm our responsibility to protect and nurture our “common home” for future generations. Pax et bonum!
