On Friday, December 13, 2024, the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong community will once again come together at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish – Mandaluyong to celebrate one of our cherished traditions—a prayerful reflection on the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary through a “Living [the] Rosary” celebration. Steered by the theme “Journeying with Mary toward the Glory of God,” this spiritual event offers a profound opportunity to deepen our faith and devotion.
The celebration begins with a solemn procession of the festejada image of Our Lady of Lourdes within the campus, uniting Capuchin and lay administrators, faculty, staff, and Grade 7-12 students in prayerful reverence. Participants are reminded to wear appropriate attire—employees and High School students in their best Friday wear and Barong Tagalog for students with special roles in the Living Rosary. Everyone is encouraged to bring their rosaries to fully and meaningfully take part in the celebration and shall gather at the High School Assembly Area by 12:45 p.m.. The event is scheduled to conclude at 3:30 p.m.
After a 15-minute health break, the community will gather again at Br. Juniper Square for the Greccio Mass, featuring the heartfelt tradition of the Panunuluyan and culminating in the Lighting of the Christmas Tree and campus decorations. This luminous celebration symbolizes the spirit of hope and joy, guiding us as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. The event is expected to conclude by 6:00 p.m.
May these faith-filled celebrations, spearheaded by the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong Campus Ministry, continue to inspire us to embody simplicity, humility, and obedience in our lives, reflecting the virtues of Our Lady of Lourdes. Together, let us renew our love for the Eucharist and strengthen our identity as a Catholic, Marian, and Franciscan community.
And may Our Blessed Mother lead us ever closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Pax et bonum!
